Identify New and Changed Requirements (Process Notes 5.3.3)

This task reviews the usage feedback that is generated as a result of using the prototype. The aim is to discover new potential requirements by comparing the usage feedback with the requirements in the requirements specification and the strategic plan for the product.

• Does the specification already contain a requirement that satisfies this usage feedback?

• Can this usage feedback be expressed as a measurable requirement?

• Does this usage feedback contribute to the strategic plan for the product?

If the usage feedback passes these preliminary tests, then treat it as a potential requirement. Before it can be added to the requirements specification, it will have to pass through the Quality Gateway like all other potential requirements.
