T-1 –
A high-speed digital connection capable of transmitting data at a rate of approximately 1.5 million bps (bits per second). In Europe the same basic technology is known as “E-1.”
Tables –
A collection of data arranged in rows and columns and in which each item is arranged in relation to the other items.

Tcl Scripting Language (pronounced “tickle”) –
An open-source tool command scripting language that can be embedded within existing C++ code. As such, Tcl is used in the development of many websites.
TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) –
A transport layer, connection-oriented, end-to-end protocol that provides reliable, sequenced and unduplicated delivery of bytes to a remote or local user.
TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol) –
A networking protocol (the Internet’s protocol) that provides communication across interconnected networks, between computers with diverse hardware architectures and various operating systems.
Telnet –
A terminal-remote host protocol. A program that lets one computer connect to another computer on the Internet.
Text-only Browser –
A browser that cannot handle hypermedia files. For example, Lynx is a text-only browser that lets you travel from one link on the Web to the next, in sequential order. Lynx gives access to all of the information that the graphical browsers can, just without the pictures or sounds. Netscape and Internet Explorer are graphical browsers that let you see pictures and hear sound.
TLD (Top Level Domain) –
Domains of which .com, .net and .org are the most common.
Traceroute –
Software to help you analyze what’s happening on an Internet connection by showing the full connection path between one website and another Internet address. A common Unix network function that reports the number of hops, or intermediate routers, between a computer and a remote server.
Traffic Allowance –
Refers to how many bytes can be transferred from a website per month, i.e., number of megabytes sent to a website’s visitors’ browsers.
