The Jinping Phosphate Mine is one of the six largest phosphate mines in China. Its major product, phosphate oxide, is rated as one of the nation's highest quality chemical products. The Zhunbei Salt Field, covering an area of 720 square kilometres, is one of the four salt-producing centres in China. Major salt by-products are potassium chloride, magnesium chloride and bromide.
