The transport facilities of the province are well developed and several trunk railway lines run through the area. Qinhuangdao is a major ice-free port in northern China which has 19 berths shipping routes to around ten countries and regions including Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore. Communications facilities are also good. Beidaihe is a well-known summer resort.
