open a word file

In the previous chapter we imported text from an external file into our existing Pages document. This time we're going to use an external file as the basis for our Pages file. All of the text for the flyer has been provided in a Microsoft Word file. Let's open that file to get started on our flyer.

Choose File > Open (-O).

In the Open dialog, navigate to the Assets folder that you downloaded from the companion site and copied into the WRONG Documents folder on your computer. Select the file flyer_text.doc and click Open.
