Summary

 < Free Open Study >

Having read this chapter, you have now seen an example of how to install and configure the Apache HTTP Server. This is no mean feat: Apache is a very large and flexible (and therefore complicated) piece of software. While you probably can't add "Master Apache Administrator" to your resume just yet, you should be well on your way to mastery. Once you've worked through the installation of Apache on your own system with your own configuration, you'll be doing very well indeed. More than that, if you can successfully configure Apache, then most other software will start to seem easy.

The next chapter in Part Three continues the trend of illustrating software installations, by focusing on the Concurrent Versions System (CVS). Chapter 12 will illustrate the installation and configuration of an inetd service.
