The AUX Sends and DIR Assignment buttons let you create sub- mixes and send your signal to internal or external effects processors. You can mix signals from many channels on the AUX busses , but only one channel may occupy a direct output at any time. Mono versus Linked AUX OperationNormally, each AUX bus is its own entity. However, adjacent pairs of AUX channels may be linked, and track signals may then be panned across the linked pair, as shown in Figure 14.12. Figure 14.12. Linked and unlinked AUX control layout
Access the AUX LINK function by holding SHIFT and pressing the MASTER EDIT button, or by using the Mixer dropdown menu's Input Mixer/Master Block item. PRE/POST SendsIf PST is selected, the audio being supplied to the AUX channel is controlled by the track's fader as well as the AUX send level. If PRE is selected, the AUX send level is independent of the track fader level. Selection of PRE or PST for any AUX send applies to all tracks. DIR SendsThe Direct Outs are eight more possible paths you can use to send audio to an effects board or another of the VS-2480's outputs. The DIR OUTs are not busses ”there are no mixing facilities for the DIR OUTs, and only one source may utilize any Direct Out at any one time. The DIR OUTs can be prefader or postfader. |
