TIP 72: Leveraging Common Adobe Color Management

Like the rest of the applications in Adobe Creative Suite, GoLive offers a consistent interface for color management of your images and artwork (Figure 72). Open the Color Settings dialog from the bottom of the Edit menu.

Figure 72. All the Creative Suite applications share the same color management technology.

Manage Color in The Bridge

If you are using the Adobe Creative Suite 2, then use the Bridge application to manage your color settings. Doing so assures that your color settings are the same across all the suite applications.

It's beyond us to explain all the details of color management in one short tip, but the good news is that whether you use one of the default settings or create your own custom settings, you can share these settings with all the Creative Suite applications. The color management in GoLive kicks in when you're converting native source files such as Photoshop and Illustrator to Web formats such as GIF and JPEG with the Smart Objects feature (see Tip 141).
