Can I convert my PST between the new Unicode format and the old Outlook 97 “2002?

When you open an old format PST in Outlook 2003, it's not converted to a Unicode format PST. You must create a new PST if you want to use Unicode. There isn't a tool to convert your PST between formats because data loss can occur when you convert from Unicode to the old format. It's better to move, copy, or import and export. This error is common when you're trying to connect to the Hotmail server from behind a proxy server that doesn't understand the WebDAV protocol. The result is that the responses from the Hotmail server are being stripped. The proxy server you connect through will need to be upgraded to one that supports the WebDAV protocol before you can use Outlook's HTTP protocol to access Hotmail or MSN email.

I want to use the PST I used on my old computer in my new Outlook profile but when I try to open it I get this error: File access is denied . You do not have the permission required to access the file D:\Outlook.pst . What can I do?

It sounds like you burned the PST to a CD. When you copied the PST to your hard drive, you forgot to remove the Read Only flag from the file. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the location of the PST. Right-click on it and choose Properties and uncheck the R ead-only attribute at the bottom of the dialog. The file should now open correctly.
