23.2. Opening GarageBandFor this guided tour, you need a GarageBand file that's already been completed. You can get yourself one by downloading the GarageBand Examples CD, a "virtual disc" available for free on this book's "Missing CD" page at www.missingmanuals.com. (In fact, the rest of this book assumes that you've already done so; see Section 23.4.) Note: For the moment, don't open GarageBand by double-clicking its icon. (If you do so, the program presents the Project dialog box, which offers you three choices: Start a new project, open an existing one, or quit GarageBand. This box goes away if you switch to the Finder and open a GarageBand song manually.) Once you've downloaded the GarageBand Examples disk, open the file called"01Garage Door." After a moment, GarageBand opens and presents you with the simulated studio shown in Figure 23-1. |
