GarageBand exports songs to iTunes as 44.1 kHz AIFF files and places them in an iTunes playlist, as determined by the GarageBand export preferences.
Exporting a song in GarageBand exports from the beginning of the first measure in the Timeline to the end of the last region in the Timeline.
Exporting a song from GarageBand with your cycle region on will export only the part of the Timeline within the cycle region.
GarageBand 2 will include music that extends beyond the last region because of effects like echo or reverb in the exported song.
GarageBand will not export tracks that are muted in the Timeline. Muting tracks before exporting allows you to export custom mixes of the songs.
You can use your playlist of GarageBand songs with all of the iLife applications, including iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD.
You can convert your playlist from AIFF format to MP3 format files by changing the import format in the iTunes preferences, and then choosing Advanced > Convert Selection to MP3.
Converting files in iTunes converts the file format of all selected files in your playlist. However, the original files remain in the iTunes Library in their original format.
