Adding a Haunting Melody

What's a spooky clip without spooky music? We want to keep the focus on the short play we're creating, so we do not want the music to be overpowering. Once we bring the music in and drag it to the Timeline, we'll adjust the Volume for the clip so that it plays "under" the action in a subtle, but effective way. The music we're using is provided courtesy of the folks at Twisted Tracks. This particular twisted track is called, DarkCity30.mp3.

Add a Touch of Spooky Music

Click the Get Media from button on the Media panel to access the Get Media from view, if it's not already active.

Select DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader.

When the Media Downloader displays, click the Advanced Dialog button to switch to Advanced mode.

Select the DarkCity30.mp3 clip for this project.

Click the Get Media button.

Drag and drop DarkCity30.mp3 onto the Audio 3 track. Be sure that the head of this clip starts at the beginning of the track.

In the Properties panel for the clip DarkCity30.mp3, set the Volume to -9.0 dB. This will keep the music so that it's not to loud, and yet we'll still be able to hear it "under" the action.

Click the Fade Out button for Volume in the Properties panel so that the music fades out gracefully at the end of the movie.
