The Help menu begins with the standard online documentation Contents and Search options and then diverges into several new help features—for example, the Documentation home page (see Figure 2-10).

Documentation Home Page
The Documentation Home Page command takes you to the highest-level page for the currently active help topic. It is similar to choosing the first page of a chapter that begins with an overview outline. Documentation Home Page topics are hot-links to topic-specific help files.

Tip of the Day... and Technical Support
These two options speak for themselves.
Microsoft on the Web
This option is active if your computer can connect to the World Wide Web; it allows you to view web pages through the InfoViewer. Web access is available from the following locations in Developer Studio:
•
A URL address in a source window
•
Hypertext jumps in the InfoViewer Topic window
•
Microsoft on the Web on the Help menu
•
The Current URL box on the InfoViewer toolbar
You should take any steps necessary to prepare your computer to connect to the World Wide Web. For example, you must have the appropriate communications hardware installed, be connected to a telephone jack or other communications line, and be properly configured. You must establish access to the World Wide Web through some Internet service provider. If you are working within a corporate network with a security firewall, you need to take the necessary steps to communicate with other computers beyond the firewall.
