Examining Control Files

TOAD provides the Control Files screen for viewing information about control files as shown in Figure 6.59 and located on the main menu at DBAControl Files. This screen merely permits the DBA to view information about both the control files and their detailed record sections. There also is no capability for TOAD to issue an ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE command. So this screen merely saves the DBA from having to query V$CONTROLFILE and V$CONTROLFILE_RECORD_ SECTION tables.
