Preparing the Lesson

Make sure you have loaded the FCE HD Book Files folder from this book's DVD to your hard drive, as detailed in Lesson 1.

1.	Open a Finder window by pressing Cmd-N or double-clicking the Macintosh HD icon on the Desktop.
2.	In the View button area, click the third option to display the column view. Do not open Final Cut Express HD just yet. Tip In Mac OS X, you can change the default window layout to column view by choosing Finder > Preferences. Click the General icon and select the "Open new windows in column view" option.
