Check for loose connectors and cables.
Verify the location and number of the terminators.
Ensure that the bus has at least one supplier of terminator power, especially with external terminators.
Verify that no two devices share the same ID.
Ensure that all external devices are powered on before system startup.
Make a minimal bus configuration with as few devices as possible.
Configure the host adapter to use slower bus speeds, if possible.
