An Accredited Integration Specialist should be able to recognize the advantages and risks of specific RAID configurations on HP Smart Array controllers. Two ways to optimize array performance are optimizing the stripe size and changing the read/write cache ratio. Selecting the appropriate stripe size is crucial to achieve optimal array performance. In most situations, the default stripe size delivers good performance. By default, the array accelerator cache capacity is equally divided between reads and writes. If a server application has significantly more reads than writes (or vice versa), you might need to change the read/write cache ratio to improve performance. |
