Scenario

You are running the WebFaced application, but at times the application behaves differently than it does in the 5250 environment. You want to investigate what is causing this behavior. The default WebFacing run time was compiled without tracing enabled in order to improve performance. To allow tracing, you need to switch to a different run time, which is also part of the WebFacing Tool. You also need to raise the tracing level from the low default value.

After you perform these changes and restart the application server, you can run the WebFaced application again and the tracing data will be stored in a log. You will be able to read through this log and try to understand what is causing the different behavior of the WebFaced application, or you can discuss the log output with an IBM representative to determine the cause of the problem.
