As I approach the period following WWII, it is with ginger steps and a great deal of trepitude, as it is a complex time. After any war, it's always messy and music is no exception, particularly when it's the second war and the world simply moved from a hot war to a cold one. However, that Roman descendant, that Zeus of musicologists, the dear Maestro himself, Colli Albani, has encouraged me to forge ahead and specifically has said "Give 'em a picture, Anthon remember Confucius!" And so I introduce this chapter pictorially with a visual glimpse of two domiciles of a contrasting nature.
