The preceding chapters introduced you to data integration. They used name/value pairs to keep data in text files and databases that would be brought into Flash with most likely the LoadVars object and possibly some middle ware. This chapter introduces another way to keep data separate from Flash in an external file: XML. XML is a buzzword on the Internet, a W3C standard, and more importantly, another language that Flash can work with and understand natively. But what is XML really? |
