ColdFusion and Flash Flowchart


When creating Flash Remoting applications, it is recommended that you follow a series of tasks. Although there is no standard order or starting point, I have found that creating a Flash Remoting application to connect to an external database in the order given in the following section can mean less debugging.

Flash Remoting Setup Process

1.

Create a directory on your hard drive for your files.

2.

Set up your website using your web server configuration.

3.

Create and populate your database.

4.

Create a data source in ColdFusion via the ColdFusion Administrator.

5.

Create the CFC.

6.

Establish a Flash Remoting Connection.

7.

Open Flash Professional MX8.

8.

Import RemotingClasses.

9.

Connect to the remote service(s) using ActionScript.

10.

Set up your Flash Interface.

11.

Test your application.

12.

Move your application to production.
