Hit View Header and Footer. You’ll see that this tab setting is used by default in Word’s headers and footers.

By default, you can type, for instance: the section name, hit tab, the document title, hit tab, and then “Page” (followed by a space) and insert the page number field. This left-aligns the section name, centers the manual name, and right-aligns the page number on the top of your document, as shown in Figure 8-8.

There is a center tab marker at the 3-inch mark and a rightaligned tab at the right-hand margin.
Be sure not to use the center-aligned tab when you can just as easily use the center alignment on the paragraph. Using the tab, for instance, would not be appropriate when you simply want to center one item of text on a line.
