Java is a fast-moving subject and Swing is still one of its fastest changing parts. To keep up with developments, reading books is not enough. The best place for up-to-date information is, of course, the JavaSoft Web site at http://java.sun.com.

JavaSoft provides an online Swing magazine, called The Swing Connection, which is regularly updated and can be found at http://Java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/.

The Prentice Hall Web site, http://www.phptr.com, is regularly updated with pointers to discussion groups or author events at which you can directly question the authors of Prentice Hall's Java and Swing books. As well as these open forums, questions on Core Swing: Advanced Programming and Core Java Foundation Classes can always be sent to the author's e-mail address (shown above). I promise to respond as quickly as I can, but not always immediately!

Finally, there are several active newsgroups devoted to discussion of the Java platform. The following two groups in particular frequently discuss Swing and JFC-related issues:
