Wireless access is provided at the head office through wireless laptops. Head-Office WirelessA site survey will be conducted to ensure proper provisioning of wireless access. Simultaneously, real-time wireless IDSs (such as AirDefense) will be installed, hoping to prevent wireless attacks such as a wireless denial of service attack in which frames are sent that force users off the access point with which they had registered. Although Media Access Control (MAC) address filtering can somewhat improve wireless security, it is not an easily manageable solution. Therefore, security will be provided for wireless access by using IEEE 802.1x authentication and TKIP encryption. Branch-Office WirelessWireless access is not provided at the branch office at this time. Remote User WirelessRemote users are not provided with wireless access points. However, employees can use their laptop's wireless card to access networks that they would otherwise access using their Ethernet connection. |
