Chapter 5. Basic Server Load Balancing

Determining where to begin when discussing the applications of content switching isn't easy. If one thing comes across from the reading of this book, it should be the breadth of applications possible with this technology and how it can be put to use to solve many issues in IP networking. That aside, by far the most well known and commonly implemented applications of content switching is server load balancing. Before any form of naming commonality existed, content switching was most often referred to as server load balancing.
