Working with tables is what this chapter is all about. Tables let you control the appearance of information you present. Most tables have rows of data organized into columns. The columns of data contain individual cells that are either header cells, which label the columns , or data cells, which contain the actual table information. Not only can you use tables to effectively organize information, such as sales records or performance statistics (as discussed in this chapter), you can also use tables to lay out the contents of your Web pages, as discussed in Chapter 11, Advanced Layout with Tables and Layers.
