Wrapping Up

Windows XP installation is typically easy and problem free. Before installing or upgrading any computer to Windows XP, make sure the computer meets the hardware requirements; this can save you a world of trouble before installation ever begins. In larger environment deployments, Windows XP gives you some tools—such as unattended installations, RIS, and SysPrep—that can make Windows XP Professional rollouts automatic and completely unattended. As you are working with installations in your environment, make sure you consider all of the possible setup issues and problems before starting any installation; this approach will make your work with Windows XP installations much easier.

In Chapter 2, we’ll turn our attention to some operating system fundamentals that Windows XP brings to the table.
