Batch Processing: All at Once

One of the great features of Premiere (even working in conjunction with Cleaner) is that you can export multiple streams of video at different data rates all at the same time. For instance, assume you want to export an Advanced Windows Media or RealMedia clip. Selecting one of these features allows you to select various data rate settings so that you can reach multiple users with various Internet access capabilities with a single process (creating a single media file). Here's how:

1. Edit your sequence, and make sure your timeline is ready for export.

2. Select File > Export Timeline.

3. Select Advanced RealMedia Export from the pop-up menu. The Advanced RealMedia Export window appears, as shown in Figure 10.16.

4. Select Multi-rate SureStream from the Target Audience Settings area.

5. Select all the data rate streams you would like to export.

6. Select any other desired options.

7. Select the destination on your hard drive (where on your system you want Premiere to export this clip).

8. Enter a filename (what you want to call this clip).

9. Click OK.

Premiere begins exporting the clip, creating a single media clip that can ensure the best possible playback based on the end user's Internet connection (download speed). The Advanced Windows Media Export window, shown in Figure 10.17, contains similar multistream options. The power of streaming media clips is becoming more intuitive, and it offers the creator and end users more features than just video and audio playback. As the creator of the digital media file, you can add your own description and keywords that will be tied to the clip. You can integrate advanced features, such as keyword searches, so that your end user finds any clips associated with the topic he is searching for. These streaming clips can also automatically adjust to lower-bandwidth playbacks to ensure the best possible playback stream for each end user's Internet connection speed. These are only some of the added-value features that are inherent when you export your clips and timelines from Premiere using the Advanced RealMedia Export and Advanced Windows Media export engines.
