Biography

Richard Schroth, as Perot Systems' chief technology officer, has added a strong focus on the market-facing elements of the company's technology efforts, further enabling Perot Systems to assess and lead our customers' visions of technology and business process, especially at strategic levels.

Dr. Schroth, who joined Perot Systems in 2001, is regarded as one of the most sought-after independent technology strategists, thought leaders, and international presenters on management issues and the application of emerging technologies. He has more than 23 years of experience directing strategic use of technology and is well known for his work in business strategy and emerging technology development. He has served as a trusted advisor to a wide range of top executives and companies throughout his career, both domestically and internationally.

Before founding Executive Insights, where he provided private advisory and speaking services, Dr. Schroth served as senior vice president of research and advisory services for Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). There he co-founded Vanguard, one of the most successful, advanced technology advisory services in the world. While at CSC, he was also involved with four of the largest outsourcing engagements in the industry (General Dynamics, Hughes Electronics, British Aerospace, and J.P. Morgan). Before working at CSC, Dr. Schroth served as chief technology officer for Marriott Corporation, where he reported directly to Mr. Marriott.

Dr. Schroth has a doctorate from Indiana University, a master's degree from the University of Illinois, and a bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University. He has also served as a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Wharton School of Business and was a member of the Executive Education Faculty at AT&T for five years.
