We'll begin our foray into HTML auction templates by presenting a variety of text-based templates. We start with the all-text approach for two reasons. First, it's relatively simpleat least compared to later templates that feature graphics, links, tables, and such. Second, you'll use the techniques presented here to create more sophisticated templates; consider these text-based templates to be the building blocks for the fancier templates you'll create in later chapters. In this chapter and throughout the rest of the book, I'll show an example of the template being presented, and follow that with the HTML code to create the template. You can type the code directly into your text editor or eBay's Description form, replacing the default text with your own item description. And, to make things even easier, the code for all these templates is available on the accompanying CD; just copy the code into your text editor and you're good to go. |
