Chapter 10. OOo Database "Front End": Your Free Pass

OOo can connect you to many types of databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and others. Using the new Base application that is part of OOo 2, you can display, sort, filter, and even edit the data. You can also connect to your data while in Writer or Calc. You can create business letters or sales sheets using names, address, and other data contained in a database. And Base lets you grab and drop your data right into your Writer or Calc documents.

Do you need to build reports or forms? OOo can create those things, too.
