Denormalization

Using database replication, you can duplicate a database so two or more users can work on their own copy of the database at the same time. Periodically linking the two (or more) replicas allows them to exchange up-to-date database objects and data and thus remain synchronized with the latest data from each copy. Replication strategies can be used for both Microsoft Access and SQL Server databases. This lesson explains how to replicate a database.
After this lesson you will be able to:
  • Explain the purpose of replicating a database.
  • Replicate a database using Microsoft Access.
  • Describe how to replicate a database using SQL Server.
