Using Schema Rowsets in OLE DB for OLAP

The schema rowsets in OLE DB for OLAP are used to define or interpret the basic relationships between views of the data. Each schema rowset has a special purpose and associated benefits. For a detailed description of each rowset, see the following topics:

Note   With the release of MDAC 2.6, the ANNOTATIONS column was added for the CUBES, DIMENSIONS, HIERARCHIES, and MEMBERS schema rowsets. The ANNOTATIONS column allows the user to store notes, in XML format, with the data in the schema rowset. For more information about this feature, see "The ANNOTATIONS Column," later in this chapter.
