Code Samples

Most of the code shown in this book is presented and analyzed in individual snippets. In the interest of brevity (and to save you from having to wade through pages of basic boilerplate), some of the more pedestrian details are left out, such as the Windows designer code needed to create form controls. To download the complete case studies in their most recent, up-to-date format, browse to the companion site for this book, http://microsoft.com/mspress/books /6723.asp. Click the Companion Content link in the More Information box on the right side of the page to bring up the companion content Web page. You'll find additional content at my Web site, http://www.prosetech.com.

Note

The code in this book has been tested with versions 1.0 and 1.1 of the .NET Framework. In most cases, these two platforms work almost exactly the same, although .NET 1.1 (which is a part of Visual Studio .NET 2003) includes a slew of minor bug fixes and performance enhancements. In the rare cases where the Visual Studio .NET 2003 behavior differs from that of the original Visual Studio .NET, the text makes special mention of the differences. Code shortcuts that are not available in .NET 1.0 code are not used.
