The Internet is a different world today than it was a few short years ago; it is truly a digital battlefield. Its openness fosters the likelihood of infection. Worms and viruses plague the Internet today and will do so for at least some time to come. The worms of today will probably seem quite tame compared to those the cyber community will face in the coming years, and it must be vigilant to prevent such attacks from succeeding.
