Sharpen the photo

Many photos can use a little sharpening. The Unsharp Mask filter works great to sharpen image details. If you have adjusted the resolution of your image, it is best to make this the final step of your photo correction.

Set the zoom percentage to 100%. Double-click the Zoom tool () to set the photo to 100% magnification.

Sharpen the image. Choose Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp Mask. Select the Amount slider and drag until you see a positive result. To preview a specific part of the image, place the cursor in the regular image and move it to the specific area of interest (the cursor will turn into a box). You might want to look closely at hair, eyes, and foliage, where sharpening can be dramatic. It's easy to apply this tool to fix blurry pictures, but over-sharpening can also leave your image with a distracting grainy texture.
