About the Author

Matthew G. Marsh, CISSP, MCNE, PRE, is founder and president of Paktronix Systems LLC. and has been working in network architecture for the last 18 years , and with Linux specifically since 1993. He fondly remembers getting "into" his first DEC box back in 1976 in order to print out the source code to the Star Trek game. After spending some time wandering around the U.S. running sound for various bands, he settled into computers as a less hazardous hobby. Working with the leading router company at the time, Proteon, permanently hooked him on routing and massive networks. He has held many certifications at one time or another and has the dubious honor of being a published authority on the Biological Effects of Stun Guns as applied to Skin (http://www.paktronix.com/library/physics.php) for the IEEE.

Along with running Paktronix, he currently is the Chief Scientist of the NebraskaCERT (http://www.nebraskacert.org) working with CERT/CC, IBM, the U.S. Strategic Command, the FBI, and other groups on network security structures and hosting the annual International CERT Security Conference (http://www.certconf.org). He is the creator of PakSecured Linux, an IPv4 and IPv6 secure Policy Routing distribution for Linux available under the GPL, and an IPSec VPN solution using Policy Routing structures under Linux. Currently he is actively researching Linux security on the IBM S/390 as well as implementation of IPv6 security and Policy Routing on PakSecured/390.

He can be reached through any of his known aliases. But to more easily find him, just check out the links on http://www.policyrouting.org.
