Chapter 11. Photon Tracing

This chapter shows you how to implement photon tracing and discusses in further detail each section of the algorithm. The algorithm can be broken into two simple procedures, each of which is covered in detail in this chap-ter. You'll develop both of these procedures and learn about a more advanced scattering technique. Then, when you've completed building the photon-map-ping components , you'll incorporate them into the cScene class. You're going to build the photon map and then process the intersections based on a conditional state. By the time this chapter is over, you'll understand better how to scatter and store photons in the photon map using photon tracing.
