Summary
This chapter covered two important ideas of light interaction, reflection and refraction. It is essential that you understand each term in detail if you are to write code to simulate each phenomenon . Reflection is the energy that's emitted off a material; it can be defined either as diffuse or specular. Refraction is the bending of light through a transparent material. The loss of light speed and the path light takes are both factors of refraction. You will write functions for both reflection and refraction later in the book.
