Summary
In this chapter, you've learned about light and how it's formed . Visible light comprises only a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum (in fact, it comprises only an infinitely small part to be exact since there is no limit to the frequency of an electromagnetic wave). It can be visualized like waves of water. You now know that light travels in straight lines, and when it intersects a transparent object, it scatters, and is absorbed before it comes back out. It is very important to remember that when a light beam hits matter, numerous types of effects can occur. It is the objective of this book to explain each effect and simulate it. This is the reason why you're learning about the properties of light before you begin development.
