This practice used to be called "40-hour week." It has evolved this far to reflect a more general need, which is to keep the team healthy. The practice means to work hard and to rest when you need it. I believe that the sustainable pace practice needs enhancement, to cover reflection, retrospectives, and other life-sustaining practices. But for now, about all we can say is to stay healthy. Is Sustainable Pace Essential?When you put it that way, the answer is obvious: yes.
