This chapter introduces the Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system. It includes an overview of the products that comprise the Windows 2000 operating system, the roles they play, and a description of the administrative differences between them in a workgroup and a domain. Overviews of the Microsoft Windows 2000 architecture and Windows 2000 Directory Services are also provided. Hands-on practices guide you through the basic procedures of logging on and performing key tasks from the Windows Security dialog box.
