Applying a Color Monochrome Adjustment

Aperture also has a Color Monochrome adjustment, which lets you create monotone effects and adjust their color and intensity. Let's apply a Color Monochrome adjustment to the Tea Time image.

1.	Make sure the original Tea Time image is selected in the Browser.
2.	Press Option-V to create another version of the image. In the Browser, you should now see four versions of the Tea Time image: The original image, the two monochrome versions, and a third version that you will adjust now.
3.	With Version 3 of the Tea Time image selected in the Browser, open the Add Adjustments pop-up menu in the Adjustments HUD and choose Color Monochrome.
4.	Click in the Color swatch in the Color Monochrome controls to choose a color.
5.	Select a color in the color wheel and then close the Colors window.
6.	Drag the Color Monochrome Intensity slider to the right or left to change the degree of the effect. The color you defined will be used as a wash over your entire image. The Intensity slider controls how much of the image's original color will remain. Sometimes, the best way to deal with serious color problems is to eliminate the color altogether through a monochrome conversion. The Color Mixer and Color Monochrome controls provide a simple way to do this effectively.
