Set up a Web Server

Panther comes with a Web server installed. In fact, it is one of the most powerful Web servers around — Apache. Apache is a world-renowned Web server because it is both powerful and reliable. Besides having this power, Apache is also easy to use in Panther. One click is all it takes to start serving Web pages.

After you get your Web server running, all you have to do is add Web pages, and you are ready to roll. By default, there is a Web page installed for the machine as well as one for each user.

You can replace the default page with one of your design or edit the existing file. All machines on the local network will be able to access pages on your Web server without any additional work. For computers outside your local network, you will have to open a port on your firewall to permit the serving of Web pages.
