Most Mac owners tend to work on the same documents and use the same applications many times over the course of a day — so Panther automatically keeps track of what you are using and what you are working on in the Recent Items list. It is much more efficient to use the Recent Items list to open a document or launch an application that you have used just an hour ago because you do not have to locate the document or application icon in the Finder window.

Did You Know?

You can clear the contents of the Recent Items list whenever you like; this is a good idea if you are switching projects or taking a notebook on the road. Display the Recent Items list and click the Clear Menu item at the bottom of the list. If your Recent Items list is long enough to scroll, move your mouse cursor on top of the arrow at the bottom of the list to scroll downward.
