SSLOptions +FakeBasicAuth When this option is enabled, the Subject Distinguished Name (DN) of the client certificate is translated into an HTTP basic authorization username. This means that the standard Apache authentication methods seen in Chapter 6 can be used for access control. To those authentication modules, it looks as if the user has successfully provided a valid username and password.
