Chapter 15. Other Approaches

We based this book on the premise that both the HTML text and the style sheet should be reusable as much as possible. The text must stay "clean" so that it can be shown with different style sheets or on different media, and the style sheet should be general enough to be applicable to other HTML documents.

In this chapter, we show what happens if we change some of those parameters, such as

• Using a different style language from CSS

• Creating a document without using a style sheet

• Using a different format from HTML

This chapter assumes that you have a little more knowledge of Web-related technology than the preceding chapters. It is included for those who want to compare CSS to other systems. You can skip it if you only want to know how to use CSS.
