Select the text to which you want to apply a style.
Click the down arrow next to the Style field on the Formatting toolbar to select a style (for example, Heading 2).
Word formats the text using the style you chose.
INTRODUCTION
Instead of applying a particular format to text for example, section headings you can apply a style that formats the text the same way each time. Word has numerous default styles from which you can choose when formatting text.
TIP
Creating a New Style
You can create your own styles in Word and apply them to text as you do a default Word style. Apply your desired formatting to some text, select the text, click in the Style drop-down list box, type a new name for the style, and press Enter. Then you can assign it to other text as in this task.
