Using Cocoon requires that you have a good understanding of XML and XSLT (and therefore XPath). The areas of Cocoon that we’ll explore call for a few other technologies: It will be helpful if you’re familiar with SAX and a bit of SQL, and the coverage of XSP will be easier to follow if you’re familiar with a templating system like JSP. Other areas of Cocoon involve the use of SVG or SOAP, so these technologies would also be good to have in your tool bag.
