You can establish a PPP connection to your ISP by using Internet Connect to dial in.
Tip
If you have a network connection to the Internetincluding a cable modem or DSL connectionyou are always connected and can skip this section.
To connect to an ISP
1.
Open the Internet Connect icon in the Applications folder (Figure 37).

2.
If necessary, click the Internal Modem button to display its settings (Figure 38).

3.
Check the settings and make changes as necessary.
4.
Click the Connect button. Internet Connect dials your modem. It displays the connection status in its Status area (Figure 39).

When Internet Connect has successfully connected, the Connect button turns into a Disconnect button and the Status area fills with connection information (Figures 13 and 40).

Tips
The settings in Internet Connect (Figure 38) come from the PPP pane of Network preferences for a modem connection (Figure 22).
Internet Connect does not have to be open while you are connected to the Internet.
To disconnect from an ISP
1.
Open or switch to Internet Connect.
2.
Click the Disconnect button (Figures 13 and 40). The connection is terminated.
